Job description 🎯

Reporting to the Aerodynamics Manager of the Experimental Design Bureau, the Aerodynamics Design and Analysis Engineer M/F will be in charge of the aerodynamic  study of aircraft and aircraft components, from the two-seater electrical one (integral-E) to the nineteen-seater hybrid one (ERA). 

Your main tasks will be the following : 

  • To propose aerodynamic design solutions and the strategy to assess design trades ;

  • To perform deep aerodynamic analyses of aircraft and its components, by using CFD and WTT data (it includes the generation of this data) ;

  • To write down aerodynamic analysis reports and to deliver design recommendations ; 

  • To develop aerodynamic analysis tools and methods ; 

  • To contribute to the intellectual property documentation ; 

  • To contribute to the aerodynamics R&D activities, including scientific communications ;

  • To participate in the wind tunnel testing campaign (from the planification to data post treatment) ;

  • To monitor technological developments  to identify emerging technologies.

Required profile 🕵️‍♂️

With ideally a PhD degree in aerodynamics (BAC + 8), you have at least 10 years of experience in aerodynamic design and analysis for multiple aircraft programs. You know how to anticipate industry trends, to prepare the aircraft of the future.

Your key assets for this position are the following : 

  • Proven experience in aerodynamic design in the frame of aircraft programs (from conceptual design to certification) ;

  • Solid knowledge of aerodynamic analysis methods (Near field, Far field, Lamb vector, Partial Pressure Field, Lamb vector and Exergy) ;

  • Practical experience with aerodynamic analysis tools (ParaView/Epsilon) ;

  • Strong experience with CFD (meshing and HPC, RANS/URANS) ; 

  • Strong experience in WTT (Instrumentation design & calibration, testing and data analysis) ; 

  • Very solid understanding of the physical aspects behind aerodynamic phenomena ; 

  • Experience in research and scientific communication.
