Job description 🎯
Reporting to the Aerodynamics Manager of the Experimental Design Bureau, the Meshing and CFD engineer M/F will be in charge of the preprocessing and part of the simulations of aircraft’s internal and external aerodynamics and aerothermal components of our different aircraft, from the two-seater electrical one (integral-E) to the nineteen-seater hybrid one (ERA).
Your main tasks will be the following:
To carry out preprocessing activities for different aircraft aerodynamics and thermal systems (internal/external), including CAD generation, cleaning and shaping ;
To generate structured and unstructured meshes (tetrahedral, hexahedral, polyhedral, multiblock, multizone, etc) suited for 2D/3D low- and mid-fidelity CFD ;
To prepare RANS and panel method CFD computations and submission on HPC ;
To implement automated grid adaption techniques for wake/vortex capture ;
To participate in simulation campaigns ;
To participate in the aerodynamic analysis of the simulations using different methods (near-field, far-field, lamb vector and exergy) ;
To interact with other design teams in order to consider all the interdisciplinary constraints (performance, battery system, structure, …) ;
To monitor technological developments to identify emerging technologies ;
Capitalize and share the knowledge about the studies performed.
Required profile 🕵️♂️
With a degree in aeronautical engineering (BAC + 5) with an orientation to aerodynamics and aerothermal simulations, you have at least 5 years’ experience in CFD preprocessing and simulations. You know how to anticipate industry trends, to prepare the aircraft of the future.
You like working in a multidisciplinary environment involving high complexity and quite high levels of risks.
In addition to your technical know-how, you are recognised for the quality of your interpersonal skills, your ability to propose solutions and defend your technical choices. You are also highly proactive and rigorous in achieving your objectives
Your confirmed level of English and your interest in digital experiences will enable you to take up your new post effectively.
Your key assets for this position are the following:
Strong knowledge of CAD (volumes, surfaces, assemblies, rendering, cleaning) and meshing.
Experience in full CFD process for aviation and automotive applications.
Knowledge of automation tools and development / programming (Python).
Knowledge of ANSYS tools, ParaView and cloud computing frameworks.
