AURA AERO, a pioneer in decarbonized aviation, has signed a partnership agreement with the French Gliding Federation (Fédération Française de Vol en Planeur – FFVP), who confirms its intention to buy one INTEGRAL E, in its tricycle version.
The aim of the FFVP is to use this aircraft daily as a glider tow-plane within a gliding club.
This new aircraft, from the INTEGRAL range, will be the first French electric tow-plane. Modern and respectful of economic and environmental challenges, it will most notably help reduce the noise impact and the carbon footprint of towing.
INTEGRAL E, whose first flight is planned in 2023, is the electric thrust version of INTEGRAL. To this day, the INTEGRAL E order book stands at over 100 orders and/or Letters of Intent, the first deliveries of which are planned for the end of 2024.
Thanks to this partnership, AURA AERO aims to address the needs and requirements of gliding clubs by developing a new electric tow-plane. In France, gliding represents 162 clubs holding a total of 32 world champion titles, equipped with 215 aircraft and ULM tow-planes, making our country the 2nd world nation in this discipline.
Jérémy Caussade, co-founder and President of AURA AERO, says: “We are very happy to announce this partnership and to launch the tow-plane version of INTEGRAL. The trust that the FFVP places in us demonstrates the growing will of the aeronautical world to move towards an aviation concerned with its environmental impact. With this partnership, the AURA AERO family extends, taking one more step towards a decarbonized light aviation.”
Jean-Emile Rouaux, President of the FFVP, adds: “By partnering with AURA AERO, the FFVP supports a French company offering innovative solutions to decarbonize light aviation. Gliding is a low-carbon activity, currently implementing an ambitious policy aimed at replacing the most CO2 issuing tow-planes. With this partnership, we are innovating while contributing to reduce the environment and noise footprint of our activity. Since nature provides us with the energy necessary for our sport, preserving it is at the heart of our sustainable development strategy.”
