AURA AERO, the first digital and eco-efficient aeronautical manufacturer, creator of the Integral R, the new generation 100% French twin-seater aircraft, pursues its growth and takes over this september the French aeronautical woodwork company Air Menuiserie.
Created in 1998, Air Menuiserie, headquartered in Bernay, Normandy, specialises in repair, restoration and manufacturing of wood and wood-composite structure aircraft, particularly wood-carbon. The company has also achieved several important aircraft modification operations, in particular the CAP 10 BK.
Approved by the EASA and the French DGAC, Air Menuiserie has been working with AURA AERO since 2017 and was a key-partner for the design and manufacturing of the first aircraft launched by the manufacturer, the Integral R. In addition to this partnership with AURA AERO, Air Menuiserie will retain its aeronautical structure repair activity.
The objective of this merger is also to improve transmission of wood-carbon aerostructure know-how and thus sustain this specialty, particularly through the training of young workers.
Finally, this merger should also help foster the birth of a world leader in certified wood and wood-carbon aircraft, mastering the entire value chain:
- A design office dedicated to dimensioning of wood and wood-carbon aerostructures, with an R&T branch;
- Qualification of glues, aeronautical plywood and wood panels for certified aerostructures;
- Serial manufacturing of wood-carbon aircraft (Integral Family);
- Implementation of the repair of the CAP 10 B as a CAP 10 BK;
- Repair of all wood-carbon structures.
