The company confirms its status as an aircraft manufacturer
Customer deliveries to start beginning of 2025
Just six years after its creation, AURA AERO certifies its first aircraft, INTEGRAL R, its two-seater training aircraft with an aerobatic capability.
“We are very proud to have obtained the CS-23 type certification for INTEGRAL R. This is the materialization of 5 years of relentless work and most of all, the recognition of our credibility as a full aircraft manufacturer with DOA/POA approvals and certification”, emphasizes Jérémy Caussade, Co-founder and President of the company.
The certification of INTEGRAL R marks the culmination of a test campaign, on the ground and in flight, which lasted 4 years. The first aircraft of the INTEGRAL family designed and manufactured by AURA AERO, INTEGRAL R performed its first flight in June 2020, at Toulouse-Francazal airport. The tests, as part of the certification campaign, were completed on 8 November, after 250 hours of test flight, 100 technical files and over 12,000 pages produced.
“We worked in close collaboration with EASA for the past years to get INTEGRAL R certified. I am very proud today of how far we have come. We would like to thank all those who believed in us and who supported us in this project, our customers, our investors and our teams. But there’s more to come! We are now aiming for FAA certification for the US market”, says Wilfried Dufaud, Co-founder, Executive Director and Head of Airworthiness.
Now that INTEGRAL R has obtained approval from the European (EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency) authorities, serial production will ramp up, to deliver the first customers in January 2025. The manufacturer aims to deliver some 15 aircraft in 2025.
With its wood-carbon structure, INTEGRAL R is equipped with on-board technology that is outstanding for this type of aircraft. “Our customers will be able to access all the data to analyze their flights and will benefit from predictive maintenance to anticipate breakdowns. It is also the first aircraft to be certified in its category, in aerobatics conditions, with a whole aircraft rescue parachute. During all the design phase, we had just one ambition: to make INTEGRAL R the most reliable, high-performing and safe training aircraft with aerobatic capability in its category!”, adds Fabien Raison, Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer.
INTEGRAL S, on the other hand, continues its flight test campaign, with the objective of a certification in the second half of 2025. INTEGRAL E, which will be available in R and S versions, performed its first flight on 3 December, and should be certified within two years, at the end of its test campaign.
