EASA delivers the ‘Permit to fly’ to AURA AERO for its brand new two-seater electric aircraft INTEGRAL E, whose first flight should take place in the coming weeks

As a positive conclusion of the AERO Friedrichshafen 2024, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has just delivered to AURA AERO the “Approval for Flight Conditions for Permit to Fly” for INTEGRAL E, prequel to the first flight of the electric two-seater, the third aircraft in the INTEGRAL family.

Thanks to this document, the DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) can now deliver the authorization for this new aircraft to begin its flight test campaign in the coming weeks.

INTEGRAL E represents a major achievement in the electric aviation journey. A few technical steps still remain to be reached, and at the end of its flight test campaign it will join the very exclusive club of electric aircraft managed in the CS-23 category.

The joint work with the EASA on this prototype prepares what the means of compliance should be for a series version, in a certification plan.

After having been presented at Paris Air Show last June, INTEGRAL E started its ground test campaign earlier this year and will reach several new industrial milestones related to its electric power architecture.

The INTEGRAL family is a family of new generation two-seater aircraft with an aerobatics capacity, available in 3 versions: INTEGRAL R (taildragger landing gear, single engine piston), INTEGRAL S (tricycle landing gear, single engine piston) and INTEGRAL E (taildragger or tricycle landing gear, electric engine).

Jérémy CAUSSADE, co-founder, President and Chief Engineer of AURA AERO, said: “The entire AURA AERO team is very proud to reach this new milestone today in the INTEGRAL adventure. We are looking forward  to seeing our new electric plane take off. The INTEGRAL family is already a great success. Let’s decarbonize light aviation!”.
